The SHS softball team honored three seniors during the final home game of the season Friday, May 1.

Heather Webster, Sarah Black, and Tabitha Gibbs have all been major contributors to this year's team, and according to Coach Dayna Carter, they will each be missed.

"Well, Heather Webster and Tabitha Gibbs have been with us from the start. This is the first year that Sarah Black came out, and I wish she'd come out sooner because she's such a strong girl… Tab and Heather were rookies of the year their freshman year. The heart that they have, and the desire they have to win, has driven this team. It's definitely going to be a tough loss. I can't even think about next year without them, because I'm so used to seeing them. I've worked with Heather for years before she even came here, so it's definitely going to be weird. She's started third base all four years, and Tabs has been in center field, so there's going to be an absence felt, but just to get them as freshman and watch them blossom over four years has been wonderful," Carter said.

Sarah Black played only one year of varsity softball, but was a member of the basketball team for four years. She is a member of the Beta Club and the International Club and will be attending Walter State in the fall to study pre-veterinary medicine.
