The Blount County Sheriff's Department has charged a Seymour man in connection with a murder on Old Chilhowee Loop.
An investigation into the shooting death of 41 year old Glen Scott Butler has yeilded information implicating 31 year old Andrew James Shastid of Seymour. According to reports from the BCSD, Shastid allegedly banged on the victim's door late Thursday evening.
A 911 call reporting gunshots at Butler's home was received at approximately 11:35 Thursday. Shastid had allegedly shot Butler twice in the torso thorough the door of his home.
Responding deputies reported Butler dead at the scene.
Shastid is being held on a charge of criminal homicide and is being held at the Blount County Detention Facility on $100,000 bond. A hearing is scheduled on March 16.
