After winning nine of the last 10 district championships, it was probably time for Seymour to let someone else have a turn with title, but that was little consolation to the Eagles that took a hard loss at home in the district championship Tuesday night, falling to Gibbs 5-2 in a hard fought contest.

Gibbs built up a big lead early against starting pitcher Corbin Weaver, who appeared to be off his game. The Gibbs Eagles scored one in the first inning and plated four in the second, taking a 5-0 lead into the bottom of the second.

 Zack Cook relieved Weaver in the second inning and shut out Gibbs from the third inning on, but the damage had already been done.
