Henderson Chapel Baptist Church will host a tent revival May 11 to 16 featuring two prominent evangelists.
Leading off the activities May 11 and 12 will be world renowned evangelist Rick Stanley. Stanley was Elvis Presley’s stepbrother, and Elvis’ closest personal aide from 1969 to 1977. He became a Christian shortly after Elvis passed away, and he will share his unique testimony of life with Elvis and his conversion.
After the death of Elvis Presley’s mother, while Elvis was in the Army stationed in Germany, Rick’s mother married Elvis Presley’s father in 1960. As a young boy, Rick was moved into Graceland, Elvis’ home in Memphis. Elvis showered Rick and his brothers with gifts and affection. At 16, Rick quit school and started traveling with Elvis. He then became Elvis’ personal aide. Sadly, Rick went through the same struggles with prescription drugs as Elvis. On Aug. 7, 1975, Elvis personally came to the Memphis Police Department and got Rick out of jail for a narcotics conviction.
Rick’s wife of over 26 years, Robyn, is the one who witnessed to him about Jesus. They have 2 daughters, Brittany and Bethany. Not long before Elvis passed away, he had told Rick; “the one who tells you about Jesus is the one who really cares about you.”
Rick Stanley is the author of the book; “The Touch Of Two Kings”. His TV appearances include Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kathy Lee, Inside Edition, several appearances on Larry King Live, and many others.
