As the old saying goes, records are made to be broken. Well, the 2009 SHS track team has been doing just that, toppling three school records last week.

Senior track member Morgan Peterson kicked off the assault of the record book, logging a 16.8 time in the 100 meter hurdles Tuesday at Carter. That time broke the 2006 record held by Rachel Stooksbury of 17.27. However, Peterson didn't stop there. She returned to the track Thursday at Gibbs to knock down her own record with a new record time of 15.96 seconds.

Monica Rogers also got in on the record breaking action, shattering the 21 year old Jennifer Sullivan long jump record of 16' ¾" with a jump of 16'9."
