A two-car accident Tuesday morning at Simmons Road in Seymour sent one driver to the hospital with injuries.
Nhan Tran told The Seymour Herald that he had been stopped on the Knoxville-bound side of Chapman to make a left turn near Simmons Road when a Dodge Caravan rear-ended his car.
“I was stopped waiting for traffic so I could make a left turn to go visit my girlfriend,” Tran said, “when I noticed in my rear view mirror that the van was going to hit me."
Traffic on Chapman was reduced to one lane in both directions for a short period of time to allow sheriff’s deputies to investigate and to clear the roadway.
Tran did not have any visible injures. The female driver of the van was taken by Sevier County Ambulance to the hospital with injuries.
The Seymour Volunteer Fire Department assisted the sheriff’s deputies at the accident scene.
