The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra has announced a new News Sentinel Pops Series lined up for the 2009-2010 Season. This season will take in the entire pop spectrum, from Broadway to the visual arts. All concerts will be held at 8 p.m. Saturdays at the Civic Auditorium unless otherwise noted.
“The 2009-10 Pops series features another great line-up of well-known artists,” says KSO Executive Director Rachel Ford. “Each concert will be an exciting program that includes familiar tunes – tunes these artists are known for, from Olivia Newton-John to Cirque de la Symphonie.” The Pops season will open with Olivia Newton-John live with the symphony. Other performances include: “A Tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber on Feb. 6 at the Civic Auditorium; Michael Feinster on March 13 at the Civic Auditorium; and Cirque de la Symphonie on May 15 to end the season.
Subscribers to the 2009-2010 News Sentinel Pops series receive their tickets to the Olivia Newton-John concert for free and get 20 percent off of any additional tickets purchased through the KSO box office as well as the opportunity to purchase tickets to popular events, including the annual Clayton Holiday Concerts, before they go on sale to the general public. Subscribers receive unrestricted ticket exchange privileges and do not pay handling fees when purchasing tickets through the KSO box office.
