I just couldn’t leave well enough alone.

I happened to see an ad on the Internet advertising for an editor at a weekly newspaper, and I just HAD to check it out.

Next thing I know, I’m the new editor of the Seymour Herald.

I’d been retired for a couple of years, writing the occasional column for a Knox County paper and even doing a bit of consulting at the paper. But that gig was over as of 2009 and there I was at home, watching cop show reruns and the SciFi channel. It was just too much for me.

So here I am jumping back into a career in journalism that until now had spanned about 40 years. During that time I worked at both small weeklies and large metro dailies. Heck, I even launched my own weekly back in New Jersey.
