Seymour High School golf standout Andrew Ramsey signed a letter of intent to play golf at Walter State Thursday morning.

Ramsey was the Sevier County Prep Champion and District III AA Champion in 2007 & 2008. Additionally, he has won nearly 30 competitive tournaments. He has done well in the PGA Junior Series, placing 10th at Duke in 2006 and 12th at Campbell University in 2008.

According to his father and SHS assistant golf coach, Lee Ramsey, Andrew has been playing golf most of his life and was ranked number one in the state at age nine. "I'm just real proud. He's worked hard since he was eight years old," said his father. "He started practicing four hours a day when he was young and has made a lot of sacrifices," he continued.
