When people talk about changing attitudes towards education, the usual rhetoric is that we need “tougher standards.”
I look at the rousing numbers of graduating students who are barely qualified to make a bed or bus a table in a tourist community and wonder if standards were higher, would our children be paid more to do these exact same jobs.
A recent article on a television station has brought up a serious question. Why have our education standards gotten so ridiculous?
