SEYMOUR – Duane and Lillian Marshall loaded up their bowls and plates with hot food on Saturday and joined the crowd gathered to welcome Kasey Veach to a benefit in her honor at the Sevier Masonic Lodge.
“We don’t know her,” said Duane as he munched on hot dogs and tamales. “We just read about her in the paper and came out to donate. We like to give what we’ve got and help others out. I hope they can raise enough to get a van.”
Kasey, 24, suffered a brain stem stroke on September 20, four days after giving birth to her daughter, Kaydence.
