An article in this issue about the sixth annual dinner of the Seymour-South Knox Chamber of Commerce brought to my mind the lack of activity the local chamber has shown in the past six years.

That might be for several reasons.

One is that it was born from the ashes of a battle with a former organization called the South Knoxville and Seymour Business Association.

A new member of that organization joined, and almost immediately began complaining about how the organization was run. Next, he wanted the bylaws amended or changed completely.
