KNOXVILLE – Sunday afternoon when Tennessee hosted South Carolina, Fuller wore the number 2 jersey in honor of her injured teammate.
McMahan has decided to end her career due to injuries and has taken a role as a student assistant coach. Fuller will wear the number 2 jersey for the remainder of the season.
South Carolina led by as many as 7 in the first before Tennessee came back to take a 3-point lead into halftime, 33-30. In the second half, the Vols stretched their lead to 16 before winning by 12, 68-56.
The win extended their lead to 36 against the Gamecocks. Tennessee’s last loss to South Carolina was 29 years ago.
Coach Pat Summitt is now just three wins away from the 1000 mark.
Fuller led the Lady Vols with a season high 14 points. Skekinna Stricklen added 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for her second career double-double.
Brionna Dickerson scored 14 for the Gamecocks in the first half, but managed just 3 in the second to lead her team with 17 points.
Tennessee improves to 14-3 overall and 3-1 in the Southeastern Conference, while South Carolina falls to 8-9 and 0-4 in the SEC.
