SEYMOUR – Members of the Seymour-South Knox Chamber of Commerce got an earful recently during its sixth annual dinner.
Not only did they hear some old-fashioned bluegrass played by Lost Mountain Sound, a local group of musicians whose repertoire included toe-tapping, hand-clapping songs such as “Sunny Side of the Mountain” and “Rocky Top.”
They also heard about some of the Chamber’s accomplishments over the past year, including donations of gift bags for every teacher at Dogwood Elementary School in South Knoxville and Boyds Creek School on Teacher Appreciation Day.
“A lot of people are familiar with the Chamber but not what we do behind the scenes,” said Chamber Director Bettina Kooijman. “We do a lot on the side that people don’t know about or see.”... read the rest of the story by Subscribing now.
