STARKVILLE, MISS. – The Lady Vols survived a scare Thursday night against the Lady Bulldogs.

They extended their record to 29-0 against Mississippi State. Tennessee took a lead with 1:45 left in the game and held on to the lead to secure the victory, 63-56.
The Lady Vols had a 32-30 lead at halftime, but after Mississippi State went on a 9-1 run in the second half, Tennessee was down.

Freshman Alyssa Brewer made a lay-up with 3:29 left to tie the game at 54-54. Then Shekinna Stricklen, also a freshman, hit a 3-pointer with 1:45 left to put the Lady Vols on top 59-56.

Tennessee held on from that point, adding four more points for the victory.
The Lady Vols shot 7-13 from behind the arch. Stricklen led the Lady Vols with 15 points and was a perfect 10-10 from the line.
