SEYMOUR – A woman was trapped in her car after an accident Monday at the intersection of Rogers Road and Sky Valley Circle.

The Seymour Volunteer Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to extricate the woman after her car was struck by a black pickup truck. According to the pickup’s driver, the woman pulled out in front of him and he braked, but couldn’t stop in time to avoid hitting her car.

The intersection, which is a hill and corner, has been the scene of several accidents recently because it has a blind spot. Bystanders at the scene tried to help the woman, and said something has to be done so more accidents don’t happen there.
