KNOXVILLE - Two Seymour residents were injured Christmas Day and a Knoxville man died when their vehicles collided on Chapman Highway near Hendron's Chapel Road.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Andrew Kaiser, 25, of Knoxville, died just after 2 p.m. when his southbound car crossed the center line and veered into oncoming traffic. His car struck a vehicle carrying Ralph E. Whaley, 76, and Mary L.H. Whaley, 72, both of Seymour.
The extent of the couple’s injuries are not known, but they are expected to survive. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision. Kaiser was not wearing a seat belt.
