SEVIERVILLE – The Sevier County Commission appointed two new employees recently to deal with water and environmental issues.

Roger Sims, of Sevierville, was named superintendent of the Sevier County Water Department as part of a one-year contract.

Sims has been a utility maintenance supervisor for the City of Gatlinburg since 1998, supervising crew members as they install water and sewer lines.
