The most successful girls soccer season in Seymour High School history continues to be decorated more than a month after the Lady Eagles’ final game.

Seymour finished the memorable 2008 run in the quarterfinalround of the school’s first-ever trip to the state tournament. Three of the players responsible for propelling the Lady Eagles to their record-breaking season, which included a perfect 10-0 district mark and epic postseason victories over Catholic and Pigeon Forge, respectively, were named to the 2008 Tennessee Sports Writers A/AA All-State Team last week.

Senior defender Tiffany Miles, junior sweeper Courtney Suttles and junior defender Lauren Johnson gave Seymour more All-State selections than any other A/AA team in Tennessee except for Christian Academy of Knoxville, which also placed three players on the squad.

Franklin Road Academy (the team that defeated SHS in the state tournament), Chattanooga Christian and University School of Jackson each placed two players on the 2008 all-state team. CAK head coach Nathan Pifer was named A/AA Coach of the Year.
