One of the best female athletes to walk the halls of Seymour High School during the past decade added another prize to her expansive trophy case this week when senior volleyball star Morgan Peterson was included on the Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State Team for the second time in her prep career.

Peterson’s inclusion on the 2008 All-State Team comes after she was inexplicably left off last year’s squad.

“Morgan had a fantastic season for us this year and she absolutely deserves any postseason honor she gets,” said Lady Eagles head coach Ed Irvin. “She made the all-state team as a sophomore but we were a little disappointed she didn’t make it after her junior season.

“I’m really pleased she made it for her senior season though,” Irvin added. “As consistent as she’s been, I really think she really deserved to make it the past three years.”
