SEVIERVILLE – The Sevier County Commission approved a contract Dec. 15 with an Internet marketing company that will create a marketing campaign for Sevier County.

The contract, which will last for a year and cost $1 million, is with U.S. Destination Marketing, Inc. (usdm.net), headquartered in Corpus Christi, Texas. The company was recommended to the County Commission by the Sevier County Lodging Tax Marketing Committee.

The company will design and develop a Web site, test the site with focus groups, acquire licenses, provide Web site maintenance, handle search engine marketing and social networking, provide e-newsletters and e-promotions, buy online and print advertising, and develop a co-op advertising program.
