On Monday night, Nov. 3rd, the Seymour Eagles 9&U Gold football team capped off a fantastic year when they won the NFC playoff championship against the A-E Roadrunners at John Tarlton Park in Knoxville.
It was a game to remember and the Eagles gave an all-out effort to emerge victorious. Seymour fans dominated the stands to witness the 12-8 championship victory.
The Seymour cheerleaders helped rally the team to achieve the “One Team, One Dream” goal that had motivated them throughout the season, then blasted the victory tunes as the buzzer sounded.
Team members received Knox Metro Grasscutter Championship trophies that evening and head coach, Martin Burgess, received an ice cold bath from the water cooler as the team's players took to the field to celebrate the momentous victory with parents and fans.
