The old saying “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire,” could ring true in Sevier County Government.

It’s not unusually for the masses to complain about the direction and actions of their local government.

The suggestion of disbandment of the Ethics Committee at the recent commission meeting appears to have created a lot of smoke by its action. The accounts of the action are in an article in this issue of the Herald.

Could there be some truth to the comments made by commission meeting attendees that this is simply another step in the elimination of access to local government.
