Perfect fall weather combined with finger lickin’ good food, family and friends,made the Third Annual Huff Family Harvest Pig Roast a success without a hitch Saturday, October 25.
Leroy and John sent out family invitations to the 3rd Annual Huff Family Harvest Pig Roast. The invite asked that you bring your lawn chair and a BIG appetite and to be prepared to set back and relax and enjoy the entertainment provided by the locally grown bluegrass & country bands.
Also, this year there was a Corn-Hole tournament, hay ride for the kids, and a pumpkin patch.Everyone was encouraged to bring the whole family!!
Nearly 400 enthusiastic family and friends enjoyed the delicious grilled pig and a large variety of food and dessert at LeRoy Huff’s property next to the river in Wildwood.
Local Bluegrass & Country Musicians played contagious music which many sang and danced to.
Family member from as far away as California attended the event.
“We have been working at getting this ready for the past two weeks,” John Huff told the Seymour Herald.
Tents were erected, a stage was built, a large fire was constructed, parking lanes were set up and everything went off without a hitch at the LeRoy Pavilion. Even the bees were on hand to enjoy the tasty food.
“The 250 pound pig and center of attention, cooked for over 16 hours and tasted like the best one we ever had,’’ Huff continued.
LeRoy Huff, a former Blount County Commissioner had to leave the party for a short time to attend to an animal call but was able to return in time before all the food was devoured.
