Janna Preston has joined Pigeon Forge Care and Rehabilitation's facility’s leadership team as Chaplain. Being part of the Signature Healthcare communities, Pigeon Forge Care and Rehabilitation has a focus on meeting the spiritual needs of its residents, patients, employees and families through a non-denominational approach of respecting all faiths.
Many Signature Healthcare Communities have full-time chaplains to serve the spiritual needs of their residents.
Signature’s Spirituality program was founded on the emotional and spiritual healing well of unconditional love. Preston will assist patients by offering encouragement and help reduce anxiety and will validate strong hope in physical recovery. Preston will also serve as a counselor and “shoulder to lean on” to patients and family’s preparing for long-term care or hospice.
Preston grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Psychology. She graduated from Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, KY with a Master of Divinity degree in 2006. She is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and served churches in Lexington, KY and Palm Coast, FL until moving to Knoxville, where she completed a Clinical Pastoral Education residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Preston has two daughters and now resides in Strawberry Plains, TN.
The facility staff, as well as residents, welcome her to the facility and look forward to working with her as she provides an extra service in the healing mission to “radically change the landscape of long term care forever.”
