The Tennessee Schools Boards Unemployment Compensation Trust (UCT) is conducting video and writing competitions to provide students and former students an opportunity to recognize and express appreciation to school employees who have made a difference in the lives of students.

The two separate competitions are open to everyone. One is a video competition and one is a writing competition.

UCT Administrator Dr. Dan Tollett said, “The competition is part of our program to help schools retain employees and create a climate where employees thrive, produce high quality work, enjoy their work, feel appreciated and ultimately, improve the learning environment for children in our schools.”

The competition also offers generous awards. In the video competition, awards will be given up to $5000. The winners of the writing competition will be awarded up to $1000.

The stories and videos will become part of a permanent online library honoring those employees who make a difference. The online library will be accessible to members of the UCT which they will be able to use during appreciation days and development days.
