A one of a kind trip to the Bluegrass State was enjoyed by a group of travelers from Super Partners. A four day trip to Louisville, Kentucky began with an evening at the Derby Dinner Playhouse for a wonderful dinner and performance of “Father of the Bride”.
The fun continued as the travelers made their way the next morning to the legendary Churchill Downs. The group was greeted by the Churchill Downs Bugler with “The Call to the Post.” After being escorted to the Jockey Club Suites for a “Dawn at the Downs” breakfast buffet, a “behind the scenes” tour was taken. No trip to Churchill Downs would be complete without taking a tour of the Kentucky Derby Museum!
After a short drive to Bardstown, the travelers were treated to a “Taste of Kentucky” lunch at My Old Kentucky State Park where songwriter Stephen Foster, writer of the Kentucky State Song My Old Kentucky Home and others is given tribute. The Stephen Foster Singers serenaded the group with famous ballads written by the composer. While in Bardstown, the group also enjoyed time at the Heaven Hill Bourbon Heritage Center to see the tradition of making bourbon and how it has had an effect on the area.
While Louisville is known for race horses, the travelers were given the opportunity to visit an actual Saddlebred Horse Farm, Undulata – located in nearby Shelbyville. A short drive to the Claudia Sanders Dinner House led to yet another wonderful Kentucky style dinner – complete with entertainment from an all female “beauty” shop quartet!
