Dedicated to preserving, protecting and promoting Southern Gospel Music, the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum continues to thrive in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains at its Dollywood home, where it’s been housed now for over a decade.
Located just inside the entrance at the internationally renowned theme park, the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum is visited by more than a million people each year.
“It’s very interesting to see some of the people who first sang the songs I’ve been hearing and singing my whole life in church,” said Ashley Fox, a West Knoxville resident who was making her first visit to the museum Saturday.
“I love learning about stuff like this and I didn’t even know (the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum) was here,” Fox continued. “I hope I can get my boyfriend and his parents to come here and see this pretty soon. I’m sure it’s something they’d really like to see.”
