According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals on Saturday May 24th 2008 at app. 6:23AM Sevier Co. Sheriffs Office received a burglar alarm call at 831 Goose gap Road. Off.

John Brown responded and upon his arrival he found a van parked near the home. Brown observed a subject, later identified a Stephen Herring, getting into the van and Brown detained him until additional officers arrived.

It was discovered that someone had attempted to burglarize the home and after a further investigation Stephen Todd Herring age 36 of of 1715 Bluff Mtn Rd was charged with attempted aggravated burglary, possession of marijuana and public intoxication.

Herring was arraigned before a magistrate and a $10,000.00 bond was set. Herring is currently incarcerated in Sevier Co. jail and a June 25th arraignment date has been set in Sevier County General Sessions Court.
