The new spotless, state of the art minimum security jail was ready for the open house held by Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals and some of his staff this past Monday.
Many came to see “what their tax dollars went for” and others were there “to just take a look”.
The new minimum security facility will hold 168 people when it opens. In the building will be two male dorms which will hold 60 inmates each, and two female dorms that will house 24 each.
The shell of a third male dorm has been built for future growth and the entire facility could eventually have 228 beds.
