


“I’d like to continue to this each year,” that was the comment made by Sevierville Intermediate School art teacher Melissa Jarboe talking about the first annual Kid’sArt Fair.
About 600, 3rd 4th 5th grade children participated in the Kid’sArt Fair where students were the artists.
Each student created pieces of art by using rulers, a piece of paper, yogurt tops for circles to trace and of course, their imagination.
“I show them how to do optical illusions going back and forth like a checkered board and they each choose two colors so each is varied and different. It’s amazing how different each one is,” stated Jarboe.
When completed, the artwork was sent to Florida to a company called Kid’sArt Fair’s who then professionally framed the pictures and sent them back to the school for display. Parents could come in and see the artwork separated by grade and teacher.
