A cash register, valued at around $500, was stolen from a concession stand-type building at the Seymour Community Park sometime last Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
Seymour Community Citizens Association (SCCA), the group responsible for upkeep at the park, notified authorities Thursday morning (March 13) when they arrived at the park to find that someone had pried open a wooden window and made off with the park’s cash register.
Jim Green, the vice president of the SCCA, said Thursday morning’s episode is just the latest in a long line of ongoing acts of random vandalism that have occurred at the park since 2006.
Green said four youths were identified by a resident that lives close to the park as being responsible for an extensive spree of damage that occurred at the SCP on March 3. He said all of the accused juveniles agreed to pay restitution for the damage so no official charges were pressed.
