According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals on Saturday March 1st 2008 the Preferred Tanning Salon located at 424 Maryville Hwy. in Seymour was robbed by an armed gunman.

Sevier Co. Sheriffs officers responded to the 911 call at app.12:54PM and the Salon owner told officers that a young  white male between 5’7” and 5’10” with a light growth of facial hair entered the salon and brandished a small dark colored handgun and demanded money.

The store owner complied and the subject fled with an undisclosed amount of money. No vehicle was seen leaving the scene by the store owner.

A SCSO K-9 was summoned to the scene but the subject was not found.

The while male  was wearing a dark orange/light brown hooded sweater and had the hood pulled down over his face.
