Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont provides a break in the winter months with Family Adventure Weekend, February 1-3, 2008, an exciting program the whole family can enjoy. Family Adventure Weekend has experienced growing popularity and is recognized as a program that gets the family involved in activities when people usually don’t spend time outdoors.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park offers winter magic while families enjoy exploration of the park’s diversity even in winter. Activities include a star party, an overnight backpack, scavenger hunt, a visit to Spruce Flats waterfall, a Cades Cove excursion, crafts, campfires, stories and good music. Tremont staff will provide insight into the many wonders of the Smoky Mountains. “Tremont provides discovery, adventure, nature education and we do all the cooking too!” says programs director Amber Parker. “This weekend is a great value for the whole family to get away and join our talented staff for an adventure filled weekend you will never forget. What better way to spend a weekend with the family than exploring the Smokies in winter.”
