Western Carolina sources say former Seymour Lady Eagles’ all-time leading scorer Brooke Johnson is progressing with her rehab with hopes of a quick return to the team after suffering a knee injury in a December game against UT-Chattanooga.
Lady Catamount head coach Kelly Jolly-Harper said the team has had to make do until its leading scorer makes her return from what was diagnosed as a knee sprain but was at first thought to be more serious.
“We hate that Brooke is out and can not be with us on the court,” said Harper, a former Tennessee Lady Vols point guard. “It is a day-to-day (process) and we are just in a wait-and-see mode.”
Johnson, meanwhile, is keeping her spirits up despite having to watch the team from the bench during her recovery.
