A single vehicle wreck sent a female driver to the University of Tennessee Medical Center today, the last day of the year.

The unnamed driver was driving toward Kimberlien Heights when she lost control of her white 1997 Honda Civic around 11:30 A.M. The wreck happened near 1109 Porterfield Gap Rd.

She impacted the driver’s side door against a tree and came to rest partially down an embankment.

The SVFD secured the unstable vehicle from sliding down with a winch at which time the driver side door was pried open.
