The 2007 Seymour High School golf teams toasted their just completed seasons recently with the team banquet held at a Pigeon Forge restaurant.
The Eagles, district and county champions and third-place region finishers after posting a 28-2 record, said goodbye to a pair of seniors at the event. The Lady Eagles, who ended the year with a 6-19 record and a third-place district finish, did not have a senior on its two-member team.
Willie Sexton and Kevin Huff were the only 12-grade golfers that competed for SHS last season. During Sexton and Huff’s respective prep golfing careers their teams combined for an 85-4 record that included a state runner-up, three county championships, two district championships and one region championship.
The Eagles’ coaches took time to recognize several individual players for earning different accolades throughout the past year.
