A building with heavy dark smoke billowing out of it was observed Wednesday, October 24, at about 11:30 PM as Seymour Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 910 Stott Ln.

Firefighters arrived to find an unoccupied 600 square foot home that was being used for storage.

The home had heavy dark smoke showing when Engine 15 arrived and laid 250 feet of supply line up the steep driveway and attacked the fire.

An occupied home was located 20 feet from the fire, Due to the fire conditions and the close proximity of the exposure, SVFD had to defensively attack the fire to prevent it from spreading to the occupied home.
