The 2007 Homecoming Week at Seymour High School officially kicked off Monday morning with the annual SHS Powder Puff Football Game. It will culminate Thursday night when the new Homecoming Queen is crowned during the homecoming ceremonies at the Seymour vs. Claiborne football game, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m.

“Homecoming is a great time because it gets a lot of kids involved,” said Seymour High School head football coach and athletics director Gary Householder. “We’ve been fortunate to have a student body at our school that has always been very active and very supportive of the football team.

“But homecoming gets even more of the students involved and out to the football game. It’s always an exciting time and a time that we look forward to every year.”

Householder said the rare mid-week game night situation does cause some unusual situations with his squad’s practice schedule this week.
