The driver of a white van, Tammy Reynolds of Seymour, with her daughter Deanna, were turning onto Chapman Highway from Wye Road when they were struck by another van driven by an unnamed female driver who was heading towards Sevierville.
The impact was severe enough to have totaled the right front end passenger front end of the Reynolds' van.
The marks left by the other van indicated it had swerved across to the other side of four lane into the on-coming lanes and ended up in the ditch about 150 yards away on the on-coming lane side of Chapman Highway, according to one of the officials at the scene.
"I have lived here for 15 years and I know how dangerous this road is," Tammy Reynolds told the Seymour Herald. "I turn onto Chapman Highway 10 times a day and I know this other van was in the turn lane when I saw it."... read the rest of the story by Subscribing now.
