The East Tennessee Cloggers from Ashley's Dance Academy recently performed at the Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales in Gatlinburg. The group, ranging in age from 6 to 16, performed for six nights from 6 to 11 pm on stages located at Ripley's Aquarium and along the Parkway in front of the Arrowmont School of Arts in Crafts.
The Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales runs all summer, from June 8th to September 3rd. The event features different clogging groups throughout the summer, as well as, storytellers, costumed musical performers and artisans portraying different time periods from the 1800s to today.
The East Tennessee Cloggers are an exhibition/competitive team starting at 6 years old. Many dancers from this group traveled to Disney World to perform this past June. The group will be performing next at the Foothills Fall Festival in October as well as many other venues throughout the year. The group will also participate in many clogging workshops this Spring.
