The Seymour Lady Eagles volleyball squad suffered its first loss of the current regular season Monday when they fell to Bearden, 25-20, 15-25, 10-15 in an early-season tournament.

The Lady Eagles did manage to defeat district foe Gibbs, 25-4, 25-13, and bounced back after the Bearden loss to handle Halls, 25-17, 25-14, in the Knoxville Interscholastic League (KIL) Tournament held at Bearden High School.

The Lady Eagles, coming off one of the best seasons in program history a year ago, continue their rugged, non-conference slate Tuesday when they travel back to West Knoxville, this time to Catholic High School, where they are scheduled to face triple-A powerhouse Farragut, along with South-Doyle and Catholic, in the final night of the high-profile, early-season tourney.

Monday night the Lady Eagles jumped out of the blocks quickly and smothered district foe Gibbs.
