A large number of marijuana plants were found during a coordinated drug bust.

On August 16th 2007, the Sevier County Sheriffs Dept. Street Crimes Unit and CID Division along with the 4th Judicial Drug Task Force and the Gatlinburg Police Dept ERT Team executed a search warrant at 2163 Grassy Branch Road, according to Sevier Co. Sheriff Ron Seals.

During the search of the residence and property a methamphetamine lab was discovered with the components used to manufacture the drug present.

Also some finished methamphetamine was found in the home. On the same property, officers also found and cut 19 marijuana plants growing in different locations.

Sheriff Seals stated that due to the extreme temperatures and officers having to wear protective chemical suits, additional SCSD Clandestine Lab Officers had to be called in to assist with the dismantling of the lab.
