Adding a pair of players who recently withdrew from consideration for the 2007 NBA draft to return to their college program, 32 of the nation’s top collegiate basketball players are expected to participate in the July 12-14 USA Basketball Men’s Pan American Games Team Trials that will be held at Haverford College (Pa.).

The Trials will be used to select the finalists for the USA Basketball Pan American Games squad that will compete in the men’s basketball competition in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, July 25-29. Athlete selections for the Trials were made by the USA Basketball Men’s Collegiate Committee, chaired by Syracuse University (N.Y.) head coach Jim Boeheim.

Added to the USA Pan American Games Team Trials roster were guards Dominic James (Marquette / Richmond, Ind.) and Sean Singletary (Virginia / Philadelphia, Pa.). Singletary earned All-America honors in 2006-07 and was All-ACC first team and averaged a team best 19.0 ppg., a team second best 4.6 rpg., a team leading 4.7 apg., 1.2 spg., while shooting 40.0 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from 3-point and 87.2 percent from the foul line. James claimed 2006-07 Associated Press All-American honorable mention and All-Big East Conference first team honors after averaging a Marquette high 14.9 ppg., 3.1 rpg. 4.9 apg., and 1.9 spg.
