Monday night, Johnas Smelcer, the Sevier County road superintendent, requested that the County Transportation Committee recommended the resurfacing of Wye Road in Seymour.
Smelcer noted that the decision to resurface the road was based on current road conditions and the last time the road was resurfaced. Wye Road apparently matched the criteria for the work.
County Commissioner Judy Godfrey, who represents parts of Seymour, made the motion to recommend the work.
It was not apparent from the meeting when the final approval would come or when the work would be completed.
