Saturday was the designated state-wide “Free Fishing Day” for children in the state of Tennessee.
The banks of local fishing holes were packed Saturday from sun-up to sun-down as scores of youngsters took advantage of what is now called “Free Fishing Week” in the state of Tennessee from June 9 until June 15, according to the TWRA web site.
The TWRA sponsored dozens of “Free Fishing Day” events last Saturday at designated sites across the state.
The event is designed to create an interest for fishing to the younger generation while, at the same time, teaching rules and regulations, along with water safety.
