Pigeon Forge, Tenn.?The 17th Annual Patriot Festival welcomes Independence
Day with four days of activities for the whole family.
 
The festivities kick off at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, at Smoky Mountain
Jubilee Theater where the Pigeon Forge Community Chorus presents A Gospel
Music Celebration, with guest artist Brian Free & Assurance.  Admission is
free but advance tickets are required and can be obtained by calling
865-429-7350.
 
On Tuesday, July 3, Old Mill Square will host Bluegrass Day.  Free concerts
begin at 3 and 7 p.m. and feature the Carolina Bluegrass Boys.  The Old Mill
is hosting a special performance of the Delaware Fife and Drum Corp at 1
p.m.

Wednesday, July 4, will be a day filled with fun and entertainment in
Patriot Park. Beginning at 1 p.m. the Tennessee State Bank¹s Kids Karnival
will feature games and activities for all ages including Climbing Wall,
Eurobungy, giant slide for children 6 & under, sandboxes for toddlers, Photo
Booth Magic picture taking, Mommy & Me Hospitality tent, water misting
tents, giant slide for all ages, Velcro Wall, Kiddie Ball Crawl, Kiddie
Moonwalk, Mechanical Bull, Kiddie Carousel, and Kiddie Tea Cup Ride.
 
Decorate your bike, tricycle, wagon or enter the Young Patriot¹s Parade as a
group to vie for fun prizes and U.S. Savings Bonds provided by Tennessee
State Bank.  Registration opens onsite at 1 p.m.  Judging begins at 1:30
p.m.  The Young Patriot¹s Parade will begin at approximately 2 p.m.

Star Jam entertainment, presented in conjunction with Knoxville¹s Star 102.1
FM, begins at 5 p.m., with scheduled performers including Grammy-nominated
Bowling for Soup, QuietDrive, Tiffany Affair and ³American Idol² contestant
Kimberly Locke.  A stunning firework display will follow the evening¹s
concerts.  The firework show will be synchronized to music broadcast live on
Star 102.1.
 
All Patriot Festival events are free. Those attending activities at Old Mill
Square and in Patriot Park are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs
for seating. Food and beverages will be available on site.
