During the summer months it is vital for all eligible donors to give blood, since the need is generally greater this time of year. "The need for blood increases this time of year due to an increase in traffic as well as recreational activity both of which can lead to accidents," states Christi Fightmaster, Medic public relations. According to national statistics, one in three will need blood at some point during his or her lifetime. "Medic is trying to do our best to stay ahead of the blood needs; however, we currently have less than a one day supply of O Positive blood, the most common type," Fightmaster continues.
Please give blood at the donor center located on Ailor Avenue to visit a community blood drive in your area.
