4 H clubs of the year announced

            The David B Hendrix 4-H Clubs of the Year have been announced for the 2006-2007 4-H year.  David B Hendrix was the Agricultural Agent, in Sevier County, from 1930-1960.

            The top two placing clubs, at each grade level, were recognized as 4-H Clubs of the Year for 2007.  The placings were based on the highest percentage average scores for all club events throughout the year.

            The clubs of the year were recognized with a Club of the Year Banner to be displayed in their classroom, along with $25.00, to be used for a pizza or ice cream party.  Club of the Year awards are sponsored by the Sevier County 4-H Endowment Fund.

            Clubs of the year for 2007 include: 4^th grade clubs – Deaton, Pigeon Forge Primary  School and Mancke, Pigeon Forge Primary; 5^th grade – Wheeler, Boyds Creek Elementary School and Bogart, Sevierville Intermediate; 6^th grade – Patterson, Pigeon Forge Middle  and Nichols, Sevierville Middle School; 7^th – 8^th grade – The Homeschool Club.

            Golden Banner Clubs for 2007 have also been named.  Gold Banner Clubs are those next highest placing clubs, at each school, not named as a Club of the Year.  They are recognized with a banner for their classroom.  Gold Banner Club Awards are sponsored by the Sevier County 4-H Endowment Fund.
