Dear Editor:
As we wrap up the 3rd Annual Bloomin' Barbeque & Bluegrass event, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of the people who helped make Bloomin' Barbeque & Bluegrass an incredible success for the City of Sevierville and Sevier County. Beautiful weather helped generate record attendance for the event which topped out at 27,500 event-goers who enjoyed music, barbeque, crafts and fun.
Even though attendance was at an all-time high, the event ran smoothly as the volunteers, event organizers and dedicated staff representing a variety of city and county services met each challenge efficiently and quickly. Organized by the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce, Bloomin' Barbeque & Bluegrass was made possible by the cooperative efforts of the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce Staff, City of Sevierville, Sevier County Government, Sevierville Police Department, Sevier County Sheriff's Department, Sevierville Fire Department, Sevier County Electric System, Sevierville Water System, Sevier County Health Department, Sevierville Department of Public Works, Sevierville Department of Parks & Recreation, downtown merchants, sponsors, supportive community members, volunteers and all of those who were active on the Bloomin' Barbeque & Bluegrass event committee. Without the cooperation of each and every one of these groups, an event of this magnitude could not have happened.
Mark your calendars now for the 4th Annual Bloomin' Barbeque & Bluegrass May 16-17, 2008!
